Hi All,

While working on some other equipment, I shut the power
down for the computer (which was in operation), and ever
since the OS does not load properly and the booting
process takes for ever. Finally, when I had the system
started, none of my programs are working. Does anyone know
why this is happening?

I cannot even do a proper shutdown by CTRL+ALT+DEL or
using the Start -> Restart/Shutdown procedures.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thx

What happens when you try to do the proper shut down? Have you run chkdsk?

Wild guess...

You have a virus that was not able to do it's dirt until the services
were terminated.

Easyest way to deal with that is to pull the system drive and install
it as a second drive on a working system, then run Virus scan acainst it.

Been there, done that.
