Windows no longer booting up - Stop error

Anyone see this error before? Any help would be

Sorry, this was with Windows 2000 client.
Windows gets to just over half way loading up and then the
below error comes up on the blue screen...

This usually indicates a serious file system error reading NTFS
partition. Boot from the 2000 CD into Recovery Console and run chkdsk
/r.
