Windows My Computer lockup

With in the last 2 - 3 we have started to see a lot of Windows 2000
computers that will randomly lock up in My Computer.

If you go to run and type in say "c:" it works just fine but if you
click on My Computer it will come up with the flash light and just sit.
This happens about once a week, the rest of the time it is just fine. I
have tried to just let it go to see if it will start to respond again,
it doesn't. Yet all of the other programs that are running seem to
still respond. Any attempt to kill explorer.exe fails and you cant even
reboot unless you push the power button.

Has anyone else seen this? And if so do you have any ideas as to what
could be the cause?

Very similar symptoms for me. We have several dozen Windows 2000 PCs that
have started rebooting when a user clicks on My Computer. Seems to
temporarily clear by deleting the local user profile, but in some instances
it comes back. Anyone else seen this?
