I have a Panasonic digital video recorder. I downloaded
movie maker and it will not read that it is plugged in.
The software that came with the recorder does read it, so
I know it is plugged in right. Is there anything anyone
can tell me about movie maker that will help? thanks

Problems with MovieMaker should be posted to the MovieMaker newsgroup at

microsoft.public.windowsxp.moviemaker

or see MVP PapaJohn's website at www.papajohn.org

However...... the software that came with your Panasonic digital camcorder
is for capturing the still images or in Panasonic speak, the photoshots...
NOT for capturing moving pictures.

Connect the digital camcorder with the firewire cable and turn it on in VCR
mode. MovieMaker should automatically spring into life and ask if you want
to import (capture) video.

Do NOT use the cable for the still images at the same time as it is
connected via firewire cable. Most Panasonic camcorders do NOT come with a
firewire cable. You'll have to go out and buy one.
