I have windows movie maker pre-installed on my computer. I created a video
slide show with audio (made from pictures) but, this version of the Movie
Maker does not let you transfer to a DVD. Do I need another softwarethat is
compatable with movie maker to burn video slide shows to a DVD?

Yes, you need software to copy the file to DVD, you can use XP to copy to CD
but not to DVD and no version of Movie Maker (latest version is 2) will let
you copy to DVD.
Popular software to copy to DVD are Nero, Roxio, Sonic, etc.
However, if your computer came with a DVD drive, it probably already have
some kind of software to copy to DVD and you can try this first.
A good site to visit for Movie Maker is:

I have a Panasonic palmcorder miniDV. I have connected to my new Dell via
S-video cable. In Windows Movie Maker it transfers a beautiful movie without
the sound. How do I get the sound to transfer? Isn't the sound supposed to
transfer along with the video through the S-video?

Please help me.

Well, thank you for that info. It does help, but now, how do I send the
audio to the computer? The camera actually came with a plug in to the
palmcorder with three jacks on the other end. One Yellow-video, and white-L
audio, Red-R Audio. My computer does not have a place to put the jacks. I
thought that the S-video would handle it all. Please help.

The yellow, white and red cables (as well as the S-Video) are there to
connect to your TV.
To transfer the movie (video and sound) to your hard drive you use a
different cable. I don't know your Panasonic model number so I can't be
specific but here are two normal ways.
1. IEEE 1394 cable (also called Firewire cable). You should have this port
on your computer it looks like this:
____
____>
It is rectangular but one side is like an arrow.
2. USB 2.0 cable. You should have this port on your computer. It is just a
thin rectangular port.

On your camera, you should have a port with the label "DV IN/OUT". So the
cable goes between this port and your computer, either the IEEE 1394 port or
the USB2 port.

If you tell us the Panasonic model number maybe we can be more specific and
help you more.

Thank you! I have a Model No. PV-DC252D. On the very front of the camera,
it a MIC input, A/V out Phones/Remote jack and an S-Video Out. What now?

Also, with the Sonic program, I have uploaded some digital photos to make a
slide show and put on DVD. I did not have any trouble making the slide show,
but when I tried to "Burn" the DVD, I received this message: "Media Blank.
Please check media." So what do I do?

I can't find your model number listed on the USA internet site of Panasonic.
Model numbers can vary from country to country so you may have to check
this.
However, there should be a section in your manual for PC connection giving
you instructions as to what kind of cable you need to use and where is the
connecting port on your camera. When your purchased this camcorder you
should have received this cable.
I do not know the Sonic software and for instructions concerning this I
would return to the papajohn home page.
