How do I make the pictures larger in Movie Maker ?

I have been experimenting with Movie Maker, and I am creating all of my
slides into files , then I want to create a movie and burn to DVD, however
the pictures are small. I was wondering if they can be made into a larger
format, so when they are viewed on the TV it will be big enough, any help is
greatly appriciated. Jeff

Do you mean you are scanning your
35mm slides?

What is the size of your original scans?

What size do they apppear when you
view them on the TV?

Maybe the following site will help you
with your scanning:

HEllo John and Thanks for replying. Well what I am doing is wanting to scan
all of my slides and old pictures to create a file to burn to DVD to watch
them on the TV. However I was playing around with Movie MAker and created a
few picture experiment to test the features of movie make. The pictures that
I used were that of pictures that I already had in MY Pictures file. When I
went to create the slide show basically , I went to expand the screen and the
resulution was not clear like the smaller pictures. I have not yet burned
that pratice DVD. Will the size appear on the TV real small or a larger
picture? Any other tips on doing what I mentioned with my slides and adding
music to it also so I can share all of my memories with everyone on DVD.
I guess I need to scan all slides first into the computer , then create a
file or files. Then use the Movie Maker. Any tips would help me greatly. I
know that I think this will be a huge project , but these are all slides from
when I was in the Navy. Thanks John for all your help. Jeff

The quality of the final product on your PC will he highly dependent on the
quality of the photo file. The more megapixels, the better.
My own opinion is quality is fine on a PC screen if you start with a picture
from a 5 megapixels camera or from a slide scanned at 2700 dpi. However I
don't find the quality high enough on a TV. For TV I simply play a slide
show of photo files.

First...posting your real e-mail address in public
newsgroups is not a good idea. You will get lots
of spam that way. And besides...we rarely send
info to private e-mail addresses....it defeats the
purpose of newsgroups which is to share the info
with everyone.

OK...the scanning site I posted for you should
help you with your slide scanning and Yves'
article should help you organize the collection.

You should be aware that DVDs support a maximum resolution of 720x480
pixels--less than 346,000 pixels--quite small by digital photography
standards.

Digital photos that are made into DVD "movies" for viewing can look
only as good as the best DVD movie--and no better.

So if you sit back far enough from the screen that movies look good,
your DVD slide show will look as good. If you look at a DVD image
"up close" on a TV or a computer screen, you will find it quite
blurry.

That's how it's *supposed* to work, and it is sufficient for many
purposes.

There are competing formats for HD DVDs that are just rolling out,
and these will extend the maximum resolution to 1920x1080 pixels--
still less than 2MP, so pretty spare from a digital photography
perspective--but very pretty when viewed from a few feet away.

Until these "standards" become more prevalent, the only way to
take full advantage of the native resolution of an HD monitor is
by driving it with a computer as an alternate display, and, of
course, you can't send that in the mail to relatives. ;-)
