If you have Windows XP SP2, you have Movie Maker 2.1.
No version of Movie Maker is able to burn a video DVD,
other the Media Center version _IF_ the SonicEncoders
plug-in is also installed.

i'm experiencing the same problem. i'm getting very frsutrated because i want
to be able to burn on a dvd. Now I was wondering since you're in the same
position if you knew whether or not you needed additional software ( ie
MyDVD) to burn your projects form MM2 or if you could burn directly off of
it? If you could respond or anyone else that reads this that would be great
thanx...

Just remember MM2 (Movie Maker 2) is an 'editing' program for you to produce
and edit a movie. When you are finished you should save your 'project' so
that it is quickly recoverable in case you want to make changes. And when
you are finished you 'save your movie to computer' or RENDER it into a movie
file. It is THAT file that you use other software to author and burn a
DVD. For example, you import your 'movie' into MyDVD and proceed from
there. There are other authoring and burning programs available as you will
read on here....Nero, Sonic, and Ulead's Movie Factory are most often
mentioned....I use Movie Factory. When you 'save' your movie to your
computer, you should save it in DV-AVI (from other settings)....this will
maintain the highest quality for your DVD....but be aware the file will take
up a LOT of disk space on your computer. I suggest you also save your movie
as 'high quality-ntsc' and then you can delete your DV-AVI file after you
complete your dvd. Good luck.
