Thank you so much for your assistance here. Yes, I had IE7 and it had
caused some problems. Messages such as: "IE encountered a problem and
had to close". I have followed your suggestion and uninstalled IE7,
reverting back to IE6. Will now see if that helped any.
Now, with regard to Windows Movie Maker 2.1. I will go to the site
you provided and download the 2.1 version and see if can be made
useful to me. If not, I'll try the 2.0. I am in the process of
copying my old VHS tapes to the PC and burning to DVD's. I am hoping
Movie Maker can do this for me without crashing.
Again, thanks for your help.

Maybe you should have another look at my
previous message. I did not provide a link
to download Movie Maker 2.1...there is no
such download. Or maybe you were referring
to the message about downloading and
reinstalling SP2? Before you attempt that I'm
thniking you might want to uninstall SP3...

As for Movie Maker 2.0...if you decide to try
it be sure to create a System Restore point
before installing it. This way...if you have issues
with it you can revert to the earlier time when
2.1 was installed.
