Windows Messenger Help, Please - sign-in problem

I was having sign-in problems with Messenger - it would all of a sudden not
recognize my email address and/or password. It was recommended that I
completely uninstall in and reinstall. I used the RUN command to uninstall
and reloaded 5.0 from scratch. The problem went away and I was able to
log-in and use Messenger for a couple of days. Now, the unrecognized
email/PW has reappeared. I assume that I will uninstall and reinstall 5.0
again. Is there anything I can do to keep this from happening again? Thank
you for you help.
 
Sounds like you tried to change your password. If you
change your password in MSN messenger...you will get that
message because WINDOWS messenger is still using your old
password.
If thats the case...change your password in 'both'
windows messenger...and msn messenger to the same
password.
 
Rick - thanks for the response. I appreciate your help. I sign in through
Passport which I think affects both Messengers. Is this correct?
