Windows Messenger has encountered a problem..........

A few programs, such as WinDVD,Capture Studio and
Messenger refuse to run, with the 'encountered a problem
and needs to close' message. Is this always a software
problem, or can it be due to my changing the chip from a
P4 2.2 to 2.3 Ghz.(original chip was damaged and 2.3 was
all that was available). All tests on Norton Utils and
HardInfo etc show the computer working perfectly, and
I've removed all other programs and hardware not
originally installed on my 15 month old machine. (and all
Windows updates and fixes). If this problem continues, I
will get my beloved Amiga 1200 out of the loft and put it
down to experience !

These days most of us are recommending HijackThis to identify and assist in
the removal of these bad guys. **Post your files to any of the following
forums, not here:**

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.
