Windows Memory Diagnostic won't run

Just clean installed SP-2 on a Toshiba Satellite and I can't get Microsoft's
'Windows Memory Diagnostic' to run on either a floppy or CD boot. It loads
but the diagnostic screen never appears. Anyone experience this behaviour
before? Did a complete disk check and it doesn't exhibit any outward signs
of dischord (but the system has blue screen crashed/failed twice in the past
several months). Thanks - Joe
