Windows Memory Diagnostic

I hope someone can help me as I am unable to get free tech support anymore.

I have Windows XP at home. Today, after I turned it on, I opened yahoo
messenger as I always do. The computer crashed and ran a disk check. After
the disk check was complete, windows rebooted and an IE window opened up to a
page on Windows Memory Diagnostic. Apparently, I have to run this to check my
system. However, step one indicated to go to the directory where I initially
stored mtinst.exe. I never installed this! I tried searching all my files for
this, then I tried searching for "Windows Memory Diagnostic" but to no avail.
Is this something I might find on the Windows XP cds that came with the
computer? I'm asking because I would have to dig those CDs out of who knows
what box (I moved 4 months ago and still haven't had time to unpack
everything). If I can avoid that and if the file is simply located somewhere
that I haven't thought to look on my hard drive, it would save me a lot of
hassle.

Thanks!

Thanks, but those are the instuctions I already have. This is where I saw the
instruction to go to the directory where I first installed the file. But it
does not give any hints about where this finel might be.

Thanks though.

Damn, can you tell my brain is fried? I overlooked the link where we can
download the diagnostic file. ooops, sorry. . . .I went straight to the
instructions and skipped that part so I thought that this was something that
was originally installed with Windows XP. Sheesh. Thanks so much!
