Windows Memory Diagnostic didnt work

I downloaded and tried the Windows Memory Diagnostic from:
http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

It created a Floppy successfully, then I restarted my
laptop, and black screen appeared,... saying

"Loading.....", then disappears and black screen results,
and the A: is running continuously.

Nothing happens. Suggestions please, thank you.

1.6 Ghz laptop, Toshiba, WinXP Home

Being that you have put this on a floppy and floppy disks are infamously non-dependable, my first suggestion would be to create another floppy and see if that resolves the issue. More than likely you just have a bad floppy disk. Also, if you have a CD burner try creating a CD using the iso image - windiag.iso.
