I've had similar in windows MP when playing VCD with twin tracks. I couldn't
turn it off but found using a better player, Nero Showtime or a DVD player I
could control the audio better.
I know that may not be the best solution but it worked for me
Hope it helps some

Funny thing I don't usealy use windows Mediaplayer I use
Mediaplayer classic, only problem is on my server I don't
have a choice the way the server works it sends ActiveX
codes out to open windows player and I don't know how
to change it and even if I did there is no garentee the person
whatching would have the same player.
But thanks for your help anyway, Cheers
