audio problem

About 4 days ago, I burned a dvd slide show and added a music sound
track. Ever since I did that I do not have any audio. I can't play
music either using songs in my hard drive or using a cd or DVD on one
of my drives.

I used Ulead software to burn the slide show DVD.

When I now access Window Media playerby using the desktop icon I get
the following window, "Windows Media Player cannot be used because the
required audio hardware cannot be found on your computer"

When I access Windows Media Playrt using the Start, All programs
feature I get the following window, "Windows Media Player cannot play
the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There
might not be a sound deviceinstalled on your computer, it might be in
use by another program or it might not be functioning properly"

I get the same type of message when I try to use Real Player or
Windows Movie Maker. I have tried a reboot without success. I have a
P4, 1.2Ghz computer with 1Ghz of RAM, win XP Home Edition.

Go to Device Manager/under sound/audio look for red exclamation...
right click the sound device thta has the mark and uninstall
then reboot and let XP redetect the device and reload the drivers.
The drivers are usually on a CDsupplied with the sound Card or if build in
on the mobo CD
