Windows media player

I uploaded a DVD into my hard drive and I don't know how to get it to play
though Windows Media Player. I think this DVD which I had converted from VHS
to DVD isn't very compatible but I don't know much about Windows Media
Player.

Not sure what you mean by "I uploaded a DVD".

Not all versions of Vista come with the necessary MPEG-2 codec
necessary to play DVD's. If not, you'll need to install some third
party software that does include some MPEG-2 codec.

"I uploaded a DVD". Means you put a DVD with a movie and sound on it and
put it in your DVD player and open it and copy all the data and then copy it
to your hard drive like D:\movie\123
