I have two problems, with which any help/advice would be very much appreciated.

Firstly, I have 3 CDs which I am unable to rip to my computer. I believe this to be because they are in .cda format? Does anyone know a simple and cheap way for me to get these onto my computer and playable with WMP?

Secondly, does anyone know why Windows Media Player only allows 74 minutes for a CDR when burning music? Is there any way (by changing a setting?) that this can be defaulted to 80 minutes as most CDRs nowadays have this capacity.

Help on either of these would be VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!

.cda isn't actually the format of the CD's, but just the way in which your computer views the track files in Windows explorer. What happens when you try to rip the CD in WMP?

I don't know why WMP doesn't let you burn on to an 80min CD, but you could try using something like Nero (often comes free with PCs or CDR drives), or perhaps CDBurnerXP (http://cdburnerxp.se/). :)

When these CDs are inserted into my PC they are not recognised by WMP and nothing shows in the RIP window?

Thanks for the advice re 80min CD burners.

Windows Media Player only allows 74 minutes ...
Use a better medium that WMP will recognise as 80min ... not all medium (blank CDs) are equal. ;)

However, It is possible that the last song will not fit even if the total time exactly matches the CD length, because the Player inserts two seconds between songs when burning.
