My ISP does not carry "microsoft.public.windowsmedia.player" (among
many others). Can I use Free Agent to log onto "msnews.microsoft.com"?
If so, how?

microsoft.public.multimedia.windows.mediaplayer is the English group.
It's been awhile since I've used Free Agent but at the time it didn't
support multiple news servers (that may have changed). I found that if I
installed a 2nd copy in a different folder, I could access a 2nd server.
This could get cumbersome.
Good luck,
Dave

I belonged to the Free Agent ng a while
back and it was said that the then upcoming Professional version would
handle muliple groups. don't know it it came to pass.
microsoft.public.windowsmedia.player
is not very good. you hardly get any out of it.

I believe you are right, only one news server. What I did is install
it twice on the same drive, I can only run one at a time though. A bit
cumberson but not overly so. I belonged to the Free Agent ng a while

handle muliple groups. don't know it it came to pass.
