Windows Media Player Launching at start up

I have my configuration in Windows Media Player to prompt
me for updates weekly. Recently I clicked OK to a
dialogue box to update my Windows Media Player and from
that moment forward it launches automatically when I
start up. I went into my start up properties and it is
not on the list of start up applications and in the
properties for Windows Media Player there is no check box
for "launch at start up". Although I have it set in my
MIME types to be my default for all media, I don't want
it launching at start up. How do I stop this from
happening?

Did you only look in the start folder or did you also
check in Start>Run>msconfig>startup

Hi,

Occurs frequently when malware is installed, suggest you install and run
adaware from www.lavasoft.de

Thanks, I have adaware. I will run it to see if that can
solve the problem.
