Windows Media Player<Error Message.

When I open up Windows Media Player, I get this message, "Windows Media
Player has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience."

Now, I have gotten this message before, but that was when the program froze,
and I saw the window for the program. Now when I click it, there's no window
that pops up, it just gives me that error without the window.

Could it be that the program is still frozen or I can't see it, or what else
could it be?
