Windows media player 9

M

Mr Strahan

does anyone know how I can UN INSTALL THIS BUG RIDDEN
PIECE OF ---- FROM MY COMPUTER.
It loses files, moves files, cant find files or paths to
files, wont play files, adds files from one playlist to
another, all on its own, moves my master lists, and is
just a major pain in the ---. every night i fix
everything and when i turn it on the next day, it is
screwed up again. Add or remove programs doesnt work, and
install/remove windows components only has provision to
install it. Both Dell and Microsoft want MORE money to
even talk to them.

Try re-installing it. Apparently its been designed to be re-installed on top
of existing setups. I have not had any problems with it (so far). Youmay
ahve a virus, or it may be the original install was corrupted.

Per the player's release notes, you'd use System Restore-
http://www.nwlink.com/~zachd/pss/pss.html#wmp9rollback

Also, it should be noted that the player doesn't have the intelligence to
mess with your mind. You might have WMP's Tools:Options:Media Library's
"Update my music files" and "rename and rearrange files" checked, but if you
don't, it's quite likely that it's WMP that's really doing this. It simply
doesn't know how. :)

See http://www.nwlink.com/~zachd/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
