HellO Gentlemen,
I hv a Unique Problem in the abv sub., I hv several Mp3 audio songs files
and MPEg video based files in the "The Music" folder in the Hard drive.. When
I play the songs which I d downloaded over the period of times, I repeatedly
only get the Error message. The first display "Windowsmedia" unable to acess
the file" with "Close" and web help Buttons. when I use Web help for "error
details"' it gives "C00D11D2" AS error no., Following is the message content.

Windows Media Player cannot access the file. You might encounter this error
message for one of the following reasons:

This file is currently in use. Close the file, and then try again.

You do not have permission to access the server or other location where the
file is stored. Verify that you have the appropriate access rights, and then
try again.

You do not have permission to access the proxy server. Verify that you have
the appropriate access rights, and then try again.

You are trying to rip a track from a CD to your hard disk and you do not
have permission to rip to the specified hard disk location. Verify that you
have the appropriate access rights, and then try again. If the problem
persists, try ripping to another folder.

To change the folder where tracks are ripped to
Click the arrow below the Rip tab, and then click More Options.

Click the Rip Music tab, click Change.

Select another folder in which to store your digital media files, and then
click OK.

–or–

Click Make New Folder, enter the name of the new folder, and then click OK.

You are trying to open a playlist that is stored on a network drive (such as
on a hard disk that is installed in another computer) and the items in the
playlist are also stored on a network drive. To resolve the issue, do one of
the following:

Using Windows Explorer, move the items in the playlist (that is, the files
that the playlist points to) from the network drive to a local drive (such as
a hard disk installed in, or directly attached to, your computer).

Using Windows Media Player, create a new playlist that includes the same
items as the old playlist, but store the new playlist on your local drive
instead of on a network drive.

By default, playlists are stored in the My Playlists folder. The My
Playlists folder is typically located in the same folder that you rip tracks
from a CD to. To change the folder where you store your playlists, you might
need to change the folder where tracks are ripped to (see the procedure noted
earlier).

However, when I play the sons files thro Broadband or thro websites they play.
Can anyone troubleshoot this issue and help me. Ihv also tried removing and
reinstalling window media software couple of times.

Thanks

How did you remove windows media software, those are OS files & should'nt
ever be deleted..Either way,try downloading WMP 11 series,as with 11,unlike
10,it can be removed thru add/remove programs.Also,in add/remove,open
windows components, make sure WMP is checked.

Identical problem.
Simply cannot access the majority of the audio files stored on my local drive.
Please note the operative word here is "majority"... a few of them still run
on Windows Media Player... and I have no idea why!

In fact no media player (Real included) can run these files.... basically
they all say the file(s) not found or something similar.

This is a recent phenomenon... and have no idea of the genesis of the problem
I get the error - C00D11D2 - with all the below mentioned messages (Natraj's
post).

What I have tried so far, spending several (non!) productive hours -

1. Upgraded to version 11 from the earlier version 9.
2. Played around with permissions and security settings... at the
drive/folder/sub-folder and file levels (I have administrator rights).
3. Reinstalled version 11
4. Tried repeatedly to access these audio files (copy/email/zip)... doesn't
work at all.

Anyone out there... please HELP!

rgds,
gladwin
