windows media player 11

Downloaded media player 11 did not read fine print and yup it deleted some
files, rolled it back but media player 10 crashes, also lost all the card
games as well as the volume control button that used to sit in my task bar
how do I get back these and get media player running properly again?

Restore from backup.

Open the Sounds & Devices applet in Control Panel and recheck the "Place
Volume icon in the Taskbar" option.

Try System Restore for other losses.
