Windows Media Center - RC2

Media Center has been working perfectly since I installed RC2 a week ago.

To day when I tried to receive TV, I get an error message that there is no
tuner detected, although Device Manager shows Hauppauge Win TV-PVR
PCII(encoder16) installed and working. Took the following steps:

1. Uninstalled tuner driver through Dev.Man.- restarted to reinstalld- no
effect
2. Downloaded and installed tuner driver from Hauppauge website- no effect
3. Tried to re-setup Media Center - no effect.

Any ideas please ?

You say you have WinTV PVR pcii? Do you mean WinTV PVR pci?Hauppauge software
is quite cranky. I use a WinTV-PVR USB2 tuner with Vista RC2. The tuner works
fine, but I have had some irritating moments with their software
applications. Other than the excellent capture capabilities of TV2000, I opt
to use Windows Media Center for TV viewing, recording etc.. and have found
MCE to function very well with the tuner, both with XP sp2 (MCE) and Vista
Ultimate RC2
Anyways...go to
http://hauppauge.com/pages/support/support_pvrpci.html
and download <u>all</u> the updated versions of (1) the base driver (2) the
WinTV PVR driver (3) the WinTV2K software and (4) the decoder.
Then uninstall <u>all</u> of the Hauppauge software. Re-install the updated
software in the same order as above. Let WinTV2K scan and set up TV channels
before running MCE.--

Thank you tac. For clarification purposes:

My onboard tuner is Hauppauge WinTV-PVR PCII (encoder 16) and was working
perfectly tuning in all usual channels until yesterday.- then on start up
error message 'no tuner installed'
I did what I listed, to no effect. Now in addition I get a new message 'WMC
Not Working - seeking for a solution etc'.
Have I moved into a new dimension here, and has WMC packed up completely ?
Should I reinstall from the installation DVD ? - or what ? Please advise.
