When I try to enable the firewall, I get and error that
the WMI file is possibly corrupt. I have tried to stop
the WMI process and restart it, but the error remains.

What is the exact error message you are getting?

"Windows cannot display the properties of this
connection> The Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)
information might be corrupted. To correct this, use
System Restore to restore Windows to an earlier time
(called a restore point). System Restore is located in
the System Tools in Accessories.

Unfortunately I was so frustrated with the SPYWARE
intrusion, that I performed a completely new load of XP
and don't really have a valid restore point. Is there
any way for me to extract the WMI file from the Install
CD?
