W. Mail sends this message - "This application has requested the run time to
terminate in an unusual way. - Please contact the application support team
for more information."
I have tried everything even going through the laborious Help procedures
offered

Which antivirus are you running? Some of them cause problems with
Windows Mail over time.

Just transfered my files from my old laptop with Windows Vista to my notebook
with Windows 7. Windows Mail would not execute. Is it not compatible? a
window with WindMail.exe comes up and says " Windows Mail could not be
started. The application was unable to open the Windows Mail message store.
Your Windows Mail mailbox data is currently being used by another program,
such as a virus scanner. Close the program or wait for it to complete its
operation then open Windows Mail again (0x800C0155)" I've closed Kaspersky
but still nothing. Any suggestion? thanks!

'Out of the box', Windows Mail is not compatible with Windows 7.
That said, there are hacks that enable partial functionality, but since it
is not supported by Microsoft, future updates are likely to cause
compatibility problems.

Your best bet is to install Windows Live Mail, then import your WM
data into it.

If Kaspersky is the problem, then closing it might not fix the problem. If
the problem still exists, then to be sure that it is not Kaspersky, you need
to un-install Kaspersky using the instructions from Kaspersky to do that. I
don't recommend running without an AV but the only way to be sure that the
problem is not Kaspersky is to completely remove it.
