Windows Mail "The Command failed to Execute"

I received the above message when I tried to open jpg files. I read the
suggested fixes and they provided NO help. Some of them use IT terminology
that contributes to my confusion.

I have used jpg files in the past but since I began using Windows Mail &
Vista, I have had several issues, this being the latest. When they function,
the programs work well but having nagging problems such as this one cause me
to question Windows Mail & Vista. NOt being able to open simple jpg files is
unacceptable!

That's a known issue that is affecting some who installed IE8.
One workaround is to uninstall IE8, which reverts you back to IE7.
If you decide to uninstall IE8 be sure to follow these instructions:

Another option is to upgrade your email program to Windows Live Mail:
