Did you check the Save Password box for the account?

So sucks!! Im on my new laptop..i havent used it in a couple weeks..and now
i cant get my email because of some stupid security!! How do i find my
username and password???? HELP>>..
Not even sure how to come back to here to check for answers..
please email me at (e-mail address removed)..at least i can check that account
for now.

"Stupid security"? Thanks to which no one else can download
your email.
No one but your ISP can help you with a forgotten password.

So how do I reset it, or uncheck it, so I don't have to enter the user name
and password each time I try to read mail? Somehow I locked it in the last
few days, so I need to reenter my security code and sign in each time I want
to process mail. I previously didn't need to. What did I screw up?
Couldn't find anything in help. Thanks in advance. N. Below it says answer
in newsgroup, which one?

Click on Tools, then Accounts, then your email account, then Properties,
then Server. Under Incoming Mail Server, find your username, click at
the end of it, backspace over it, then enter it again. Do this also for
your
password, then enter any confirmation it asks for. Click on the box
before Remember Password once or twice, leaving it with a check mark.
Click on Apply, then OK, then Close.

I have tried this and there problem is still there. Do you have any other
suggestions?

You might try it without the click on Apply, which when done just
after putting the checkmark before Remember Password, often
erases the password.

I don't see your problem statement in this thread.
It isn't always wise to assume your problem is just like someone else's.

Password corruption problems can be caused by running a non-
compatible antivirus. Which antivirus do you have?

Some antivirus programs corrupt the password file.
Which antivirus are you running?

When I sign to read e-mail, a Windows Mail Sign appears and tells me to enter
user name and password. It also comes on and lets me know that my password
is not the same as that entered into windows.

The password for your mail server account will most likely be different
than the password for your Windows user profile.

If you meant something different, please explain.
