Carmen Lynch

I cannot send emails, I keep getting the following error messages.

Account: 'incoming.verizon.net', Server: 'incoming.verizon.net', Protocol:
POP3, Server Response: '-ERR invalid command', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Re: Carmen has sent you an
Evite Invitation', Account: 'incoming.verizon.net', Server:
'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket
Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Do you have a check in the "My server requires authentication" box? (It's in
the Server Tab on the account properties).

You submitted two separate error messages. The first pertains to
receiving, the second pertains to sending.

For the receive error: Go to Tools, Accounts, select that mail account,
Properties, Servers. Uncheck the box for "Log on using Secure
Password Authentication."

For the send error, were you at home when that happened, or on a
laptop away from home? You can try substituting port 587 for port 25.

Thanks. Changing the port worked.
