Windows mail or Yahoo?

Here is my problem.......
For example I see an ad on Craigslist I want to reply to and I prefer that I
use windows mail for the reply vehicle but my system automatically brings up
yahoo log in for mail. I have chked
windows mail for being set as default and it appears to be set as default as
the box to set default is greyed out.
Anyone have any ideas as to what I may need to do besides dump yahoo from my
system? Is it because yahoo is my default home page...should not affect
email I would not think? but maybe?
To get my windows mail to do what I want and that is to send mail from
it....not yahoo....I have to do a lot of cut and paste.
Now I do not have this problem if it is a reply from within windows
mail...that works just fine, just like it is supposed to. I have 2 different
accounts setup in Windows mail and both send from the email address to which
the original message was sent. This only occurs if Im on a web site or
someother internet program that I want to send email to...like a contact us
button etc.

any ideas on what I need to do will be greatly appreciated. a post here or
direct to my addy will be welcomed.

thanks

Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Windows
Mail". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.

If no improvement, do this:
Open the Default Programs applet, then click on "Set program
access and computer defaults." Expand the Custom selection, and
select Windows Mail. Click OK.
