-- ATT yahoo is my default email. When i click a link or page to email it
goes to windows mail, then it sits there & will not send. I deleted my user
acct. in windows mail & still it goes to windows mail. Can windows mail be
deleted? How about live mail? Will i have the same issues? Also after i
deleted the user acct. my yahoo emails kept downloading to window mail.

Even if you could remove Windows Mail (you can't), it would not
help with this problem. Windows insists on having a default email program.
Webmail is not an email program. Each webmail provider has to provide
a special fix to allow Windows to recognize their webmail as a pseudo
email program. Yahoo did so for Windows XP:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/settings/settings-10.html
but I don't think they have updated it to work with Vista.

So, you have two choices. Either set up Windows Mail to handle your
AT&T/Yahoo mail, or else don't click on mailing links on web pages.
For the latter, you can copy & paste the link into your webmail interface.

Thanks, that clears it up some. I'm using FF3.03 as my browser so i guess the
same thing applies.

Kipper i was unable to find where to change the port. I did check the box for

The host 'smpt.att.yahoo.com' could not be found. Please verify that you
have entered the server name correctly.
Subject 'Dog On Tramp on Yahoo! Video', Account: 'pop.attt.yahoo.com',
Server: 'smpt.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No,

Here is the most recent error message i rec'd. I went back & deleted my

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'hh',
Account: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Server: 'smtp.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: SMTP,
Server Response: '553 From: address not verified; see
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/manage/sendfrom-07.html',
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 553, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

Thanks for any assistance,

You have several things wrong.
That email address (e-mail address removed) is not valid.
Delete that last letter.

The port settings are wrong. Follow the pictorial directions on this page:

:

Go back into your acct settings and change the port on outgoing to 465
with encrypted SSL; change your incoming port to 995 with encrypted SSL.

This info was provided by ATT when I had this problem.
