Then remove your "mail" account.

If you want to keep Windows Mail operational for email, do this:
Go to Tools, Accounts, select your mail account, Properties, Advanced,
and enable "Leave a copy of messages on server." That will keep it
from deleting messages on the server.

Why did you set up an email account in Windows Mail if you only want
to use newsgroups? To disable email, you can delete that mail account,
or configure it to never check for mail.

For POP accounts, there is no automated or bulk method to return already
downloaded messages to the server. If you have access to an IMAP or
HTTP account, it can be done. The latter have a 'synchronization' feature.
