Windows Mail Folders Open Up

I am running Vista with Windows Mail. In my local folder there are numerous
folders I created, along with sub-folders. All of the folders are closed,
but whenever I open Windows Mail, all of the folders and sub-folders are
open. Why does this happen and how do I fix it?

Tools, Options, uncheck "Automatically display folders with unread messages".
