Possible causes are:

Low disk space.

Low memory.

I'm trying to access the newsgroups; this is the message I get. Mail works
fine, just the newsgroups, which I've used a lot in OE with WinXP. I've DL
all the newsgroups so those settings should be ok. Can anybody help? OS is
Win Vista Business SP1. thanks.

Does this happen with a particular newsgroup only, or with a
particular news server account only? If so, delete that news account,
restart Windows Mail, then recreate that account.

Had the same problem, it was a OE and Windows Mail Duplicate Remover program
(demo). Unistalled and problem solved.
