Windows Mail compatibility with Outlook Express

I have a new laptop running Windows Mail and a PC that runs Outlook Express.
Can I interchange these two systems depending upon which computer I am using
or can I get Windows Mail on an XP system so both are running the same mail
programs.?

You can't install either mail program to the other Operating system.

Simply set up your Mail / News accounts in WM as they are in set up in OE,
with one additional step, you need to "leave a copy of each mail on the
server" so that they are available to both of your machines. Do the
following on BOTH machines, OE & WM, Tools>accounts>select your
account>properties>advanced tab, also set a number of days to delete so that
your online mail box does not overfill.
If you wish to transfer existing mail from OE to WM See Importing from
Outlook Express http://www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx

Windows Mail won't run under XP and Outlook Express won't run under Vista.
Microsoft's new email program, Windows Live Mail, will run under Vista, and,
I
believe, under XP also.
