OK, ensure that at the server tab of your account that Outgoing server
requires authentication is selected.

Never used Sky, so not sure about this, but Yahoo and gmail need POP to be
enabled from within the accounts options when signed in online, have a look
at the options to see if Sky operate the same way.

Just had a quick look around and found:

Have you done this?

HTH?

I note your reply to the post from Gary, when you visited www.sky.com/unlock
that it rejected your credentials.

Is it possible for you to contact Sky and ask about this particular
possibility?

Is there a mechanism within your online account detail that allows you to
change/reset your password?

Other than the above, I am lost for now, sorry.

Yes Mac I will give this a go.

cheers

Stevie

Just to everybody know the outcome. Eventually got through to sky 'web'
support. He fiddled with something at the sky end and made me delete and
create a new account. We then went to unlock and suddenly everything started
to work. Thanks to all on this forum for the support and getting me to the
answer. One word of advise about sky though. I had to make several calls to
sky to get this sorted. The staff were helpful and polite but on several
occassions they told me there was nothing they could do. It was suggesetd at
one stage that it was the avast antivirus that was hindering everything. It
was only when they put me through to speak direct to their web team that I
got the thing sorted. CHEERS!
