Windows Mail accessing registry key like crazy!

My Windows Mail started to behave in a strange way after months of using
(with no problems).
Then, when creating a mail, or responding to a mail, it started to lag
incredibly!
It was impossible to create a mail! Everytime a key was pressed, there was a
lag-time for 10 seconds (between each key pressed!).
First i checked the process info to see what was stealing processor time,
but only windows mail was doing anyhing. So i used a registry monitor to see
what was going on.
Windows Mail accessed the registry like crazy, and especially in the key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\ZoneMap\Domains]
So, i looked in that key, and it was full of weird domain-names. After
deleting the key and creating a empty replacement (Domains), Windows Mail
works just fine again. (also deleted from internet explorer security-thingy).
Problem solved. But:
Is this key a spam-filter key or what? And why the **** is the program
accessing this key when i try to write a mail?!

That key is a list of Restricted Sites, which you can see by going in
IE7 to Tools, Internet Options, Security. Some third party anti-malware
programs go hog-wild by adding thousands of 'bad' websites to that list.
When you are composing a HTML email, the editor has to check
what you are entering against the Restricted Sites list.

My provider is DSL Extreme; I get to the web via Internet Explorer with AOL
as my home page.

Purchased the computer with Vista in April-everything ran just fine.

Two days ago, after I read an E-mail, if I click on "Keep as New" or
"Delete" or just try to X out, nothing happens. I keep on clicking on those
buttons or the red X upper right and nothing. I click on the tab and finally
a little message shows up that says "Not responding." The little window
comes up that gives me the options to have the program search for a solution
and fix it, close it or search for. . .something.

This is happening WITH EVERY E-MAIL!!! I have to have Windows restart the
program after every E-mail!!! What is going on here?

Sounds like your Windows Mail is thoroughly hosed.
I suggest you install Windows Live Mail
http://get.live.com/betas/maildesktop_betas

It will import all your Windows Mail emails and settings automatically.

Where do you see "Keep as New"?
I can't find such an option in Windows Mail.
Or are you using Internet Explorer to read mail on a Web page?
