Windows Logon Screen

I have been reading Haking Windows Vista by Steve Scinchak- early inhis book
he teaches how to change the logon screen so that you it requires you enter a
user name and a password on the logon screen. I followed his instructions
and learned that since I have home Prem. and not business or ult. I do not
have access to "secpol.msc" which allows me to make the change. Do I have to
pay the $160 to upgrade or is there a way around this?

believe it or not I like vista- have been loyal- and will always be- but
really can't afford another $160 after the $1,500 dollars I paid for my new
lap top.

Why don't you just go into Control Panel; access your user account, and put a
password in!

Hi,

Click start, type "control userpasswords2" and hit <enter>. Click continue
at the prompt. Go to the advanced tab, enable the secure logon option.
There's no need for secpol.msc (and there is no substitute for it on Home
systems).
