Still the same.

"The software has failed to pass Windows Logo testing and will not be
installed"

What the hell!? Can't I just disable this "testing" crap?

I have seen this issue in 2 types of situations

1. When the software is not compatible to Windows Version

2. When the OS is not legal

1. The software was downloaded from microsoft.com. It's DirectX 9.0c!

2. I bought this PC, and this OS was the standard one that came on it, and I
do have the 25 digit code sticker thing on the side of the case.

Go to Start > Run and type: dxdiag , and hit enter.
What version of DirectX are you currently running?
If you installed Service Pack 2 for Windows XP,
version 9.0c should already be installed.

Upgrade your Video Card drivers and try it again. Have seen this a
couple of times when the Video card drivers were not compatible with
DirectX 9.

Not every driver is sent for Windows Logo Testing. Each manufacturer must
pay for every driver they send for testing and a lot of manufacturers do not
bother.

Try the 'System' Control Panel Applet, 'Hardware' Tab
Drivers : 'Driver Signing' button
Check 'Ignore ...' and 'Make this action the system default'
OK & OK
(Possibly reboot)

Didn't make any difference with unsigned drivers for me under WinXP SP0,
but i think it does under SP2.
