During initial setup, I put in the incorrect name
for "Who will use this computer". I later went into Users
in the control panel and corrected the name, but still
when I sign into Windows it prompts with the wrong name.
Does anyone know if there is a registry entry or
something that will correct this issue?

This should be the case if you renamed the previous name. Are you sure that
it's that what you did?

Positive--Went into control panel, users,
administrator, "Change my name", changed to new name.
Says new name on start menu. Welcomes me with old name
during bootup (should mention we use Novell, so we sign
into Novell first then Windows Workstation--it is the
Windows Workstation ID that is incorrect).

If you go into:

Control Panel / Perforamance and Maintenance / Administrative Tools /
Computer Management / Local Users and Groups / Users

you will see that only the "Full Name" entry was renamed, not the actual
"User" name. You might try renaming it there, but be aware it will not
change your folder names to match.

It's much cleaner to create a new account and then copy the old user
profile to the new one to keep your settings.

way to find this? Do I have a problem?

Ah, XP Home - did not know that nor did I know there was a difference in
that regard between Pro and Home. You'll have to wait for another person
familiar with XP Home to pipe in - I have no experience with it. Sorry.
