windows login trouble

I have a laptop with WIN XP Home OS. This machine was previously hooked into a domain but changed to a workgroup. I am now unable to get past the initial Ctrl+Alt+Del login screen. Help in resolving is appreciated.
 
After you ctrl+alt+de
you have the advaned options - there should also be a drop down box with the domain name in it, click there and select "yourCompuerName (this computer)
then use your system login accoun

I have a similar problem, if not the same. But, when i click on advanced options, the only thing that is different is a little blue square thats says 'EZ' (I think, its E something), not domain name, nothing. Can any one help?
