Windows Login problems..

Maybe someone knows the answer to this..

We have a computer at home running Windows MCE 2005. On it we used to have 2
accounts. One for my Girlfriend and one for her Daughter. I deleted the
Daughter's account because I'm putting my computer in the living room for
anyone to use. I deleted this maybe a month or more ago.

Last night things were working fine.. so it seems. I used the computer most
of the night copying some files to an external hard drive, played some
games, etc. I went to bed and woke up and went to work this morning. Went
out to get milk for the office and when I came back I had a voicemail..

My Girlfriend's login wasn't on the screen.. her Daughter's was. She can't
even get in her own computer because it requires a password. Also, the login
screen is black when it's normally blue. I've never seen that before.

Any suggestions? Here's the only things I did change last night.. switched
from the motherboard video to an ATI standalone PCI-E video card I bought
and I also installed that Microsoft screen saver that automatically logs you
off after so many minutes of inactivity, but the system was working fine
after that.

I'm a little puzzled how the milk for the office got into your post but here
is what I would do:
- Click Start / Run / cmd{OK}
- Type these commands:
net user{Enter}
[Which accounts do you see? The girlfriend's? The daughter's?]
- control userpasswords2
[Which accounts do you see? The girlfriend's? The daughter's?]

If the girlfriend's account is there, do this:
- Put a tick mark into the box that requires users to enter a password.
- Click the girlfriend's account.
- Remove the tick mark.
- Click OK.
- Enter her password when required.
- Reboot the machine.

Thanks. Will try what you suggested. I'm going home on my lunch break and
taking an early one.

The milk got in my story because I tend to over explain things. Bad habit of
mine.

Okay, I went home on lunch break. The login screen is due to the winexit.scr
I installed.. which I've set to kick people off after 20 mins of no
activity.

This is defaulting to an old user name that no longer exists.. you can type
the correct user name and password, but once you logoff it'll revert back to
the old user name.

I wonder how I can fix that. It's a pain to have to type username and
password everytime.. should only be password.

Maybe I'm missing something here but I would have thought the obvious
solution is either to modify the settings for winexit.scr or else to
uninstall it.

Oh, I'm not going to uninstall it. There are no settings for user name.
Somehow Windows is picking up an old user name not existing anymore.

I need it to kick people off after 20 mins of no activity. We don't allow
my Girlfriend's Daughter to use our bedroom computer. Not only do things get
messed up, sometimes it's annoying if she installs some software and it
runs in the background when the computer starts everytime (such as Limewire
which we don't use such crap), etc. We'll turn it off, and she'll turn it
back on to start with Windows. You'll be playing a game and she will
sometimes continue it. Really annoying. She also bothers her Mom during the
day while she is sleeping.

So, we put a computer in the living room which she can use. I made a limited
account so I can control what goes on it or not. Control panel access is
blocked on both computers as is changing the screen saver. The internet on
it is set to shut off at 9:45pm every night. This way my Girlfriend can use
her bedroom computer and if there's no activity for 20 mins it logs her off
automatically and her Daughter can't use it.

Now there's no reason for her to bother us in the bedroom while someone is
sleeping, etc.
