windows login error

Since I bought my laptop - I've had the same windows
login error, "Windows cannot load the users profile but
has logged you on with the default profile for the
system. Details: The system attempted to load or restore
a file into the registry but the specified file is not in
a registry file format."

I can still login and the computer works fine - but this
screen comes up every time and is quite annoying.

Any thoughts??

You're user account has become corrupt. Create a new user, transfer over any
personal files you need to, and delete the old user.
