Windows Login Error

Can anyone tell me why one user can and another user
cannot log into windows from the same desktop? I've
dsiabled and renabled the user account, disjoined and
rejoined the station to the domain. However when I look
at the nbtstat -a statistics it show a strange entry
...__MSBROWSE_ _.. GROUP
 
You can't change a SID that easily. A SID changes when a machine gets
reinstalled. Was your PDC reinstalled?

It wasn't exactly reinstalled. I am not sure of all the
details because I didn't create the problem. From what I
now our network admin guy was trying to upgrade to win2000
form nt. It didn't work out but he ended up
repartitioning the PDC to be one large partition. But in
doing that he was forced to have a new Machine SID. This
created the problem....
 
If you have a BDC, what you need to do is promote it to the PDC, then you
can reinstall NT on the original PDC and put it back into the domain as a
BDC. Everything will then replicate to the newly install machine.
