windows locks up

Does anybody know where to start when your computer locks
up for no reason. I am using XP pro. I have all the
latest drives and window updates, but the system just
frezzes up for no reason. I have to turn off the power
and restart the computer.

One possible problem could be that your computer is over
heating. This is caused by a lack of airflow usually due
to not having enough fans or an improper heatsink. If it
is a software problem I would suggest you try closing
down some programs that are running in the background,
one of them could be causing the problem. Note: I am not
