windows locks up

when I am browsing windows locks up completely and I lose my cursor, the
only way back is to turn the machine off and back on again Really annoying,
please MVP's or any other professional what is wrong?

Only when browsing, or has it ever happened anywhere else? I assume the
ctrl-alt-delete doesn't even work, right? Could be bad video or mouse
driver, could be a hardware problem (of many kinds) .. but that should
happen other places too ... could be you need to repair your IE6
installation (details of how to do so get posted here every day or two
... groups.coogle.com 'windows XP repair IE6' should find you more than a
few cases.).

Could also be various bits of nasties attached to IE6 - I assume you
already ran a virus scan and something like 'Spybot S&D' or 'Ad Aware'?
