What is this "windows live local"...I downloaded this "maps" program for
outlook but it doesn't run, even though it told me that was installed.

Have you tried going to http://local.live.com/ with your browser?

It's a web site in Beta testing status that displays maps, satellite
photography and in some areas angled aerial photography. It works in
FireFox, so I'm thinking it's probably Java based instead of ActiveX.
