Every time I start a Microsoft Office programme (and
sometimes others) a Windows Installer window appears
with "preparing to instal" and the floppy drive starts.
It then disappears and the programme starts properly -any
ideas on getting rid of this??

I think I used TweakUI downloaded from Microsoft to stop it. But you
could also disable your floppy drive from BIOS. The result would be the
same.
