Windows Installer / Safe mode

I reinstalled Windows on my HD and when I try to install a Windows product I
get a popup that says "The Windows Installer could not be accessed. This can
occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is
not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance." I
have checked the "msconfig" and it doesn't show that I am running in safe
mode. I alse tried to down load Windows Installer and got a message that I
already have it installed on my computer. What can I do to be able to install
things like M S Works and everything that comes with it like Word and other
things from Micro Soft?

What version of Windows have you installed? That error should not occur
with Windows XP.

Re-install Windows Installer. That happens sometime. IMO Windows Installer
isn't worth the hype...
