Windows Installer flashes for 1/2 sec

NFL

In any program the 2" x 5" window "Window
Installer" "Preparing to install" flashes on the screen
for an instant.This occurs every few minutes.
I disabled "system restore" - no change.
Cannot determine what program(s) were added just before
this started.
 
Is this the work of "MyDoom", the new worm just
discovered this afternoon? Have you opened any
attachments today?
